FAQ
-
Learning a musical instrument is incredibly beneficial for brain health and cognition. It improves co-ordination and allows you to play and enjoy the music you love in a whole new way. Studies show that children who take on an instrument are more likely to succeed academically, and its very beneficial for older learners suffering from joint pain, or arthritis. On top of all this, its incredibly good fun!
-
It goes without saying that weekly lessons are the best option for consistent improvement. However bi-weekly provides a lot of additional support to less committed players and is a great option if you’re happy to have gradual progress.
-
At Living Room Guitar Lessons we charge £15 for a half hour slot, and £25 for a full hour. Both of which are solid options if undertaken weekly. If price is an issue, we are always open to supporting and helping new clients so just get in touch if you’re not sure.
In Person lessons
-
In-person lessons are favoured by many students, as having a clear view of the teacher, and a more dedicated time slot and practice space has real benefits.
If you’re happy to commute to a studio or teaching space then this is definitely the best option,
Online Lessons
-
Most teachers would agree that improvements in technology now make an online lesson not only possible, but a real benefit to anyone who struggles to find the time to practice. Cutting the commute means more time for playing, and doing a call on whatsapp, facetime or zoom can provide many of the benefits of an in-person lesson.
Lessons for Adults
-
At living room guitar lessons, we have a flexible commitment structure that affords you the opportunity to be consistent, while having control over your scheduling and lessons.
-
we will always focus on what the learner is passionate about. Whether it’s Hendrix or Slipknot, we will teach you music you know and love, improving both your playing, and enjoyment of the instrument.
-
While we don’t have a specific syllabus for learners to use, we do encourage high levels of practice and commitment. Often a teacher simply offers accountability for practice and proggression, speeding up your journey.
Prices
The 30 min lesson is the best for flexibility. Aimed at younger or casual learners this is what we recommend for those starting out.
1 hour lessons are perfect for the more advanced learner. These will give you enough time to fully explore complex phrases and musical ideas.
